How to write an essay?

Writing an essay is like cooking a hamburger. Think of the introduction and conclusion as a bun, "meat" between arguments. In the introduction, you formulate the thesis, and in the conclusion, you summarize. Both should consist of no more than a few sentences. The body of your essay, where you present facts to support your position, should be more substantial, usually three paragraphs.

Like cooking a hamburger, writing a good essay requires preparation. Let's take a look at it!

Essay structuring (also known as burger building)
Imagine for a moment a hamburger. At the top is an introduction and a summary of the topic. This paragraph begins with a hook or factual statement designed to grab the reader's attention. Then comes the thesis, the statement that you must prove in your next essay.
The meat in the middle, the main body of the essay, is where you provide evidence to support your topic or thesis. It should be three to five paragraphs, each offering an idea supported by two to three supporting statements.
The bottom bun is the conclusion, which summarizes the arguments you put forward in the body of the essay.
Like two hamburger buns, the introduction and conclusion should be in the same tone, short enough to convey the essence of the topic, but long enough to articulate the point that you could touch on in the body of the essay.

Choose a theme
Before you start writing, you should choose a topic for your essay, ideally one that you are already interested in.

Nothing is harder than trying to write something you don't care about. The topic should be broad enough or general enough that most people know something about what you're talking about. Technology, for example, is a good topic because it's something we can all touch in one way or another.
